Privacy policy

This policy explains what Swoon Ink collects when you read here, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Reading statistics. Which chapters are opened and read to the end, which video or link brought you here, and your country (from your IP address, which we don't store). We use this to see which stories people enjoy and to plan new chapters.
• One reader cookie. A random ID that lets us count you once instead of once per chapter. It doesn't contain your name or email. Visitors from the EU, the UK and Switzerland are asked first, and nothing is stored if they say no.
• Your email address, only if you give it to us, to unlock chapters and send new-chapter alerts. Alerts start only after you confirm by email.
• Settings on your device. Your text size, page color and the last chapter you read are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share your email with anyone except the service that delivers our emails.

Services we use

• Cloudflare hosts the site and its database.
• Resend delivers our emails.

If we add advertising or paid memberships later, we'll update this policy before they go live and name the providers here.

How long we keep it

Reading statistics are kept for up to 24 months. Your email is kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a record that you unsubscribed so we never email you again.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from any email with one tap using the link at the bottom.
• Change your cookie choice by clearing this site's cookies; we'll ask again.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or to delete it, by writing to hello@swoonink.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California) you may have further rights, and we'll honor them.
